Idris has many applications in the Intelligent Traffic Systems industry, but has achieved much success in tolling, where it has arguably become the de facto standard for axle-based vehicle classification in Open Road Tolling (ORT/MLFF).

Idris is now being applied to Automatic Incident Detection to help road operators achieve their objectives in road safety through high accuracy and low false alarm rates.

Features of Idris AID
Idris AID relies fundamentally on its unique core ability to detect and profile vehicles.  Idris has a proven track record in measuring the length, speed and type of vehicle as it passes.  Idris can discriminate between tailgating vehicles and those with trailers.

The Idris profiling engine provides a wealth of data relating to each vehicle which allows the incident detection supervisor program to accurately match vehicle records at each outstation and hence track the vehicle along the roadway.

Vehicles that either stop or perform erratically are immediately identified to the control centre, as are conditions general to the traffic flow.
