What is an ITP?

Idris Technology Partner (ITP) is a concept designed to make Idris available to many more end users. Idris offers a number of clear advantages over alternative technologies, and provides to a qualified ITP a strong and sustainable competitive platform. With the skill and expertise of additional ITPs, Idris will provide a wide range of traffic technology solutions to meet the ever increasing demand for the gathering of accurate traffic data and the reliable detection and classification of vehicles. Idris has already demonstrated an exceptionally high level of customer confidence. The hallmarks of Idris are high quality implementation, detailed product knowledge and support from trained engineers and good sources for products and systems from reputable companies.

The ITP Information Pack available to interested parties provides an indication of the initial support package which will be provided to each new ITP and an explanation of what an ITP should expect to gain from partnering with DCS. The document does not define any specific agreement details. Like all working relationships, the way in which the partnership develops will depend on a great many factors both internal and external. However, DCS has always practiced a “hands on” approach and will work closely with its ITPs for mutual benefit.

The package also explains in outline what DCS expects from an ITP and the criteria which DCS will use to qualify an organisation to become an ITP. DCS does expect that ITPs will demonstrate certain industry knowledge, but there are no restrictions by company size, turnover or location.

With this package we would expect a competent organisation with no prior experience of Idris to be “up and running” in six to eight weeks.
