The Magic of World Congress 2011

The magic of ITS World Congress took place in Orlando Florida earlier this month. Hosted by Transportation Society of America, the 18th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems featured ITS America's Annual Meeting & Exposition. The theme of the event was 'Keeping the Economy Moving' and featured more than 250 sessions, a wealth of exhibitors and countless networking events with ITS professionals from around the world.

Discussions and presentations featured and focused on new and emerging ITS technologies from all areas of the industry, including a presentation by Idris Technology's Business Development Manager, Mike Payne. The paper gave the industry an insight into a new and innovative product launched by Federal Signal Technologies (FST). The product encompasses all the needs of the 'lane' in one package. A product which will have universal appeal, cover a broad spectrum of ITS needs by combining AVC, AVI and cameras into one compact system to feed a back office system with consolidated transactions.

This revolutionary complete micro lane controller system has been developed by Bob Lees and the FST team, and is based on the 'Plug & Play' concept used by Idris allowing it to be compatible with a host of manufacturers equipment.
