Peek helps keep Tampa moving

In the early hours of September 18th 2010, cash collection came to an end on the Selmon Expressway in Tampa, Florida. The smooth transition to all-electronic toll collection (AETC) would not have been possible without the involvement of Idris Technology Partner, Peek Traffic Corporation. Peek provided extensive onsite support throughout the summer of 2010 which allowed for the uninterrupted transfer to the new AETC system. The success of this system is aided by Peek's SmartToll units, a smart vehicle detection solution implementing the Idris AT600 software. This software enables the system to handle an array of issues such as lane changing, straddling, missing vehicles and most importantly reversible lanes. The integration of these technologies offers customers an accurate and reliable system which is able to cope with traffic of every type in any direction.
