Idris System Monitor Development
The System Monitor & Control application is an Idris interface system operating through a web browser. This development was the handiwork of Idris Engineer Mark Corbin.
Idris System Monitor & Control web browser is an Idris developed product which provides a smarter way of accessing existing facility features. It has been designed to simplify life for the 'every day' user. It has a better touch and feel aspect about it, utilising
buttons and settings rather than editing a command line in a shell or window.
The system has recently been used to aid E-470's transition to an all-electronic toll collection (AETC) system. The new web interface has become E-470's maintenance interface so there is now one unified web interface for all technicians and maintenance personnel to log onto. They are able to access the relevant lane, view any equipment, cameras, live feeds, triggered images, as well as start or stop processes - all through the browser. By encompassing the system operations this way, tasks such as monitoring and viewing live cameras, looking back at still images of plates and cars can all be brought into one interface.
Being able to offer access on a tiered basis, subject to a users security clearance, means all staff can access the road and systems via the web browser and carry out relevant maintenance or diagnostic checks. This avoids problems arising from accidental access to sensitive areas of the system. In addition it pulls all the servicing and maintenance elements of the system together and places access in one place.
Progression of System Monitor and Control will continue with new features and benefits being added along with the inclusion of monitor and control capabilities for the lane controller.
