Idris ORT Lanes for Illinois Tollway
Several of our ITPs are involved in the ambitious Congestion Relief Plan for Illinois Tollway. The project will span over ten years, the first two concentrating on the conversion of mainline plazas to Open Road Tolling (ORT). Nine of the twenty plazas were completed in 2005 with the remainder due for completion by the end of 2006.
ETC was awarded the Toll Revenue Management & Maintenance Program contract, giving them primary responsibility for the successful implementation of ORT and a new toll collection system.This contract was also a ‘win, win’ situation for Idris, which was specified in the tender as the AVC system of choice. OSI Laserscan is the ITP ed by ETC to supply Idris for this project with ongoing third line support supplied by DCS.‘On a project of this magnitude it is imperative that all parties work together to ensure the smooth integration process,’ said Bob Lees, ‘DCS & OSI have been working closely with the ETC team throughout the first part of the project and the results speak for themselves.’
