Lasers and Loops Combine DCS and OSI LaserScan Announce Licensing Partnership
for Idris® Technology
July 13th, 2004. - Diamond Consulting Services Ltd. (DCS) and OSI LaserScan (OSI) today announced that OSI has entered into a licensing agreement with DCS under which OSI will incorporate DCS’s patented Idris Technology into their vehicle detection product range.
In a statement welcoming the news, Jeff Saunders, President of OSI LaserScan said, “Our adoption and assimilation of the Idris Technology is a key step in our strategic plan. The dual product offerings meaning AutoSense and Idris and their eventual integration will provide ''a better defined solution'' for the Toll and Intelligent Transport markets.
Bob Lees, co-founder of DCS and co-developer of Idris, said, “We are pleased to welcome OSI as our latest Idris Technology Partner (ITP) and look forward to working closely with them. Idris and AutoSense are, on the face of it, rival technologies, however, both companies recognised the strengths in each others' products. This partnership will enable OSI to develop new solutions which may offer a combination of our technologies yielding a better solution than either one on its own.”
OSI LaserScan, a subsidiary of OSI Systems, Inc.
