Idris is an automatic vehicle detection and classification technology. This Intelligent Transport Solution (ITS) is produced in a variety of manifestations applicable to all areas of the traffic industry from simple data recording products to a complete Automatic Vehicle Classification system (AVC).
Idris Technology consists of complex patented algorithms around which an intricate software program has been developed to produce a technology capable of meeting the highest accuracies for vehicle classification around the world. This software package in conjunction with the in-ground patented axle loops provides a traffic technology capable of being integrated in most of today's traffic solutions. Idris Technology is not only a versatile solution - it is cost effective and low maintenance.
Idris Technology is currently used, and has proven reliable in, a variety of traffic solutions in all types of lane situation. The Technology can accurately count and classify vehicles in all weather conditions from sunshine to snowstorm. It handles congestion with the same precision as freeflow traffic and has the ability to identify straddling or tailgating vehicles. Idris can differentiate between trailers and tailgating vehicles, it can even classify twin tyre vehicles. No matter how many lanes (including shoulders) which require vehicles to be detected-Idris has no limit.
Idris is owned and developed by Diamond Consulting Services Ltd (DCS). Research and Development work is constantly being undertaken at our offices in the UK, Australia and USA to ensure the technology remains at the cutting edge of the industry. The Company has a number of Idris Technology Partners (ITPs), who are responsible for the implementation, integration and promotion of the Idris Technology. These ITPs have undergone specialist training to qualify them to assist with Idris Technology solutions.
